Race Day Travel Info
Due to the numerous events, demonstrations and usual tourist traffic around the White House and Freedom Plaza on race day, we strongly recommend using public transportation (Metro trains or buses). The nearest Metro stations are Metro Center (Red, Orange and Blue lines) and Federal Triangle (Orange and Blue lines).
The closest station to the Renaissance Hotel in Arlington is Crystal City (Blue & Yellow Lines). The best route to Freedom Plaza is to take the Yellow Line in the direction of Fort Totten, switch at L’Enfant Plaza station to Orange Line and take to Metro Center.
Alternatively, an Uber ride from the Renaissance Hotel in Arlington to Freedom Plaza is estimated to cost about $12.
Parking is available at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, open 24 hours. The all-day rate is $15. Directions here.
